I recently had the pleasure of taking a wonderful group of agents to experience Dubrovnik and the lovely Valamar hotels.
On arrival in the Konavle region (just 20 minutes from the airport), we were greeted by brightly coloured vintage Renault 4s, which we drove in convoy around the winding country roads – such a brilliant fun activity for a group on arrival in this beautiful area.
Driving these vehicles was a bit of a challenge but there was plenty of laughter along the way! We were then rewarded with a delicious pit-stop lunch at the family owned Šapro olive mill.
We arrived at the Valamar Lacroma Hotel where we checked into their newly renovated V-level rooms. This versatile hotel offers 401 bedrooms, flexible meeting and exhibition spaces for up to 1200 delegates and gorgeous views at every turn.
The hotel’s Momenti restaurant was our venue for a fabulous dinner, followed by cocktails in the lively hotel bar – again with those incredible sea views.
The next morning, we had site visits of Valamar Lacroma Hotel 4*, Valamar Argosy Hotel 4* and the President Hotel, Valamar Collection 5*. The three modern, newly refurbished hotels are just a few minutes’ walk from each other, connected by gardens, making them ideal for a multi-property event and in total offering over 1000 bedrooms. The Valamar Argosy Hotel has the most amazing views from the pool terrace and the President Hotel, Valamar Collection has direct beach access and wonderful seafood restaurants overlooking the Adriatic.
In the afternoon we headed to the picturesque Old Town for a guided tour and a chance to take in this beautiful destination. We visited a selection of private hire dinner venues (including Lazareti, Revelin and the Franciscan Monastery), all very unique and showcasing how much Dubrovnik has to offer for both conference and incentive groups. Our final dinner was at the Banje Beach restaurant, with a stunning location, high end cuisine and more tempting cocktails!
It was time to head home on day 3 but not before we experienced the famous Dubrovnik cable car ride. We admired the breathtaking vista from the top whilst enjoying farewell drinks on the terrace – the ideal way to end such a memorable stay!
